Jai Shri Ram! 🙏
Hanuman Jayanti is one of the most beloved and energetically powerful celebrations in the Hindu calendar. It marks the divine birth of Lord Hanuman — the eternal devotee of Shri Ram, the embodiment of strength, courage, loyalty, and selfless bhakti. In 2026, Hanuman Jayanti arrives with special cosmic significance, and this guide will walk you through everything you need to celebrate it with full devotion and spiritual awareness.
Hanuman Jayanti 2026: Wednesday, April 1, 2026 Tithi: Chaitra Shukla Purnima (Full Moon of Chaitra month) Vikram Samvat: 2082
According to the Hindu Panchang, Hanuman Jayanti is observed on the Purnima (full moon) of Chaitra Shukla Paksha. The full moon of Chaitra carries immense spiritual energy, and the combination of Purnima with Hanuman’s birth nakshatra makes this day extraordinarily auspicious for worship, mantra chanting, and seeking blessings of strength and protection.
💡 Note: In some South Indian traditions, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated during the Krishna Paksha of Margashirsha or Karthika month — dates may differ by region.
For maximum benefit, perform your Hanuman puja during these auspicious windows:
| Puja Time | Timing |
|---|---|
| Brahma Muhurat | 4:30 AM – 6:00 AM |
| Morning Puja | 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM |
| Abhishek Muhurat | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM |
| Sandhya Aarti | 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM |
| Ratri Puja (Night) | 9:00 PM – 11:00 PM |
⏰ Always check your local Panchang for exact sunrise/sunset timings in your city.
Lord Hanuman is not just a deity — He is the living symbol of:
The Valmiki Ramayana and Sundarkanda describe Hanuman Ji as Bajrang Bali — the one whose body is as hard as a thunderbolt. He crossed oceans, defeated demons, and carried an entire mountain — all in pure love for his beloved Ram.
Worshipping Hanuman Ji on His Jayanti: ✅ Removes fear and negative energy ✅ Grants protection from evil eye (nazar) ✅ Blesses with courage and clarity ✅ Helps overcome Shani dosh (Saturn afflictions) ✅ Brings success in struggles and court cases

Follow this complete Puja Vidhi to perform the ritual correctly at home or temple:
Step 1 — Sankalp (Resolution) Wake up early, take a bath, and wear clean clothes (preferably red or orange). Light a diya and take a Sankalp — a mental vow to perform the puja with full devotion.
Step 2 — Sthapana (Placement) Place the idol or image of Hanuman Ji on a clean altar facing East or North. Keep a fresh red cloth beneath.
Step 3 — Avahana (Invocation) Fold your hands and chant:
“Om Hanumate Namah — Aavahayami, Sthapayami”
Invite Lord Hanuman into your sacred space with full humility.
Step 4 — Panchamrit Abhishek Bathe the idol with Panchamrit (milk, curd, honey, ghee, sugar) one by one, chanting “Om Hanumate Namah” with each offering. Then wash with clean water.
Step 5 — Sindoor Arpan Apply sindoor (vermillion) mixed with jasmine oil to Hanuman Ji. This is one of the most beloved offerings to Bajrang Bali. Chant:
“Sindhura varnam tri-bhuja vishalam, Vanamali-kutham cha vishaalam”
Step 6 — Flowers & Tulsi Offer red flowers and Tulsi leaves at the lotus feet of Hanuman Ji.
Step 7 — Dhoop, Deep & Naivedya Light incense and the ghee lamp. Offer bhog — preferably besan ke ladoo, boondi, or panchamrit.
Step 8 — Hanuman Chalisa Path Recite the Hanuman Chalisa at least once — ideally 3, 7, or 11 times. On Hanuman Jayanti, this multiplies in power many fold.
Step 9 — Sundarkand Path (Highly Recommended) If possible, read or listen to the Sundarkand of Valmiki Ramayana on this day. It is the chapter that describes Hanuman Ji’s greatness most vividly.
Step 10 — Aarti Conclude with the Hanuman Aarti:
“Aarti Kije Hanuman Lala Ki, Dushta dalan Raghunath Kala Ki…”
Offer camphor flame and distribute prasad.

Chant these mantras on Hanuman Jayanti for specific blessings:
Mool Mantra (For General Blessings):
ॐ हनुमते नमः Om Hanumate Namah (Chant 108 times)
For Strength & Protection:
ॐ नमो हनुमते रुद्रावताराय सर्वशत्रुसंहारणाय सर्वरोगहराय सर्ववशीकरणाय राम-दूताय स्वाहा
Bajrang Baan (For removing obstacles): The full Bajrang Baan path is especially powerful on Hanuman Jayanti. Recite it during Sandhya (evening) time.
For Removing Fear:
भूत पिशाच निकट नहिं आवैं, महावीर जब नाम सुनावैं (From Hanuman Chalisa — repeat 21 times before sleeping)
Many devotees observe a fast on Hanuman Jayanti. Here are the rules:
Who Should Fast: Anyone seeking strength, protection, victory over enemies, or relief from Shani/Mangal doshas.
What to Eat (If Doing Phalahar Fast):
What to Avoid:
When to Break the Fast: After the evening Aarti and Hanuman Chalisa path, offer prasad and break your fast with it.
If you can, visiting a Hanuman temple on this day multiplies the spiritual benefit:
Lord Hanuman is not just a deity of ancient times — He is ever-present, ever-listening, ever-protecting. Every Tuesday and Saturday He is worshipped, but on His Jayanti, the cosmic channel to His energy opens wide. Whether you face health struggles, career obstacles, family conflicts, or inner fears — approach Hanuman Ji with a pure heart on this day and witness His grace.
Jai Bajrang Bali! 🙏
